Hi guys! It's definitely been a while... I have been home from abroad for a little over 9 months now. I wish I was able to remain consistent while I was abroad, but time flies when you are having fun. I do want to continue to post about my time in Florence, Italy and how my experiences change my perspective on life.

I'd like to speak a little about myself and where I am now. I spent the summer working at a summer camp on Long Island. I learned that patience is a virtue and leadership is a skill that has to adapt to all audiences. I am a senior at High Point University, I will be getting my degree in May in Strategic Communication. I am hoping to find a job in public relations, social media or sales in Charlotte, North Carolina -- or at least stay somewhere warm. Job hunting has definitely been a completely different vibe than traveling the world. Some days it still feels like abroad was just yesterday, I can't believe how much time has passed. Although the stress is piling up, I think I am able to take in stride because of the confidence I built abroad. If you asked me two years ago I would be sure that I'd succeed in permanently moving away from home and starting my professional life, I don't think I would have an answer. After living in a country with a 6 hour time difference and an equally long flight away, living a couple states away from my parents feels like nothing. (Of course, I would never be able to do anything without all of their love and support hahaha)

When I was abroad, I visited 9 countries and 19 cities over 5 months. I learned how to manage my time and money; something that I struggled with greatly before. Not only did I see the world, but I learned so much about myself! I am more confident, proactive, organized and culturally aware than I was a year ago. I want to inspire everyone to study abroad or at least travel before settling down. I discovered that traveling was a passion of mine, it makes me wonder what other passions are yet to be discovered.

My main goal is to be able to live in Florence again in the future. I want to perfect my conversational Italian before deciding the take the jump. I would love to move their immediately after graduating, but my sister is getting married in October and I don't think I would be able to afford travel and time off. I know my time there is not over. I love it and miss it there every single day, along with all the amazing people I met on my journey.
